Trip Summary | Little Makalolo | Rhino Safari Camp | Classic Africa Camp | Stanley & Livingstone Hotel | Locations

This diverse itinerary is for the adventurous, combining unique lodges and a tented camp in some of the finest safari destinations in Southern Africa. Your journey begins in Hwange National Park an outstanding wilderness area hosting the big five, a great variety of antelope and a high density of predators. Your next destination is the stunning Matusadona National Park where you can track black rhino and lion on foot. Next is the scenic World Heritage Site of Mana Pools, where you focus on walking and canoeing. You complete your adventure at the exclusive Stanley & Livingstone Hotel at Victoria Falls.
Days 1-3: You will be met at Victoria Falls Airport for a short flight to Little Makalolo, situated in a private concession within the southeastern section of Hwange National Park in one of its best game viewing areas.

Three nights are spent at this intimate camp, which consists of only six comfortable tented rooms. En-suite facilities include both an indoor and an outdoor shower "under the stars". The camp overlooks a small waterhole and you can enjoy game viewing during the "siesta" hours from a log pile hide. Activities at Little Makalolo centre on open 4x4 game drives and guided nature walks throughout the concession.
Summer game viewing is excellent with wildebeest, steenbok, zebra and eland found in abundance. In winter the waterholes are magnets for elephant and on some days each water hole can get up to 1,000 elephants coming down to drink. Other regular game sightings include lion, buffalo, hyena, giraffe, sable, roan, impala, waterbuck and reedbuck.
Days 4-6: A charter flight to the remote Rhino Safari Camp - a small, owner-managed camp situated within the Matusadona National Park near the mouth of the Ume River on Lake Kariba.

You spend 3 nights at this rustic camp, comprising six twin bedded en-suite rooms on stilts overlooking the lake. The rooms are situated discreetly along the shoreline and offer magnificent views.
The Park has been designated an Intensive Protection Zone for the endangered black rhinoceros, and the camps sighting rate for these special animals on safaris within the last year is 90%. Elephant, lion, leopard and buffalo are found in the area, as are hippo, crocodile, zebra, waterbuck, impala, warthog, kudu and bushbuck. In addition there are over 350 recorded bird species. The area is well known for exquisite sunsets and 360 degree scenery, making it the best walking area in Zimbabwe.
Days 7-10: A charter flight to Mana Pools National Park, where you stay for 4 nights at the luxury tented Classic Africa Camp. The site for the camp moves every few weeks to maintain the pristine nature of Mana Pools, but each site is on the Zambezi River under the shade of mahogany and albida trees.

The camps are run on an exclusive basis, so whether you are just two people, or a group of eight travelling together, the camp is yours. Activities include on foot experiences with wildlife, canoeing on the Zambezi and game drives in open vehicles all with a fully licensed professional guide.
The varied array of mammals and birds in Mana Pools is testament to the diverse habitat, although perhaps the elephants are its greatest asset. Great big bull elephants wander between the water and their feeding grounds, checking on the numerous herds of females and their young. The Zambezi River is wide and lazy at this point, and contains innumerable pods of hippos lounging alongside crocodiles. The grassy islands are home to buffalo and frequented by elephant that swim out to them in search of more succulent vegetation. A wide variety of antelope dwell on the flood plains, attracting the predators that prey upon them.
Days 11-12: Today you transfer by air to the magnificent Victoria Falls. The Falls - one of the seven natural wonders of the world - are a spectacular sight of awe-inspiring beauty and grandeur on the Zambezi River, bordering Zambia and Zimbabwe. Two nights are spent at the luxurious and tranquil Stanley & Livingstone Hotel, situated on a private 6,000 acre reserve. The Stanley & Livingstone estate is home to the big five and is just a 15 minute drive from the Falls.

Each uniquely decorated suite has its own living room, Victorian-style bathroom and separate bedroom. The lush gardens of the hotel are home to a wealth of bird and animal life, and a nearby waterhole offers sightings of elephant, kudu, buffalo and waterbuck. In addition to game drives and bush walks, the hotel can arrange elephant-back safaris, walking with lions and visits to the Falls, along with adrenaline activities such as bungee jumping, white water rafting and jet boating.
Day 13: A transfer by road to Victoria Falls Airport to connect with your onward travel arrangements.
