Islands of Siankaba Lodge

The Islands of Siankaba Lodge is a luxurious forested retreat, with six secluded chalets linked by a footbridge to a haute cuisine restaurant, all on two untouched islands in the mighty Zambezi River between the 'Seventh Wonder of the Natural World', the magnificent Victoria Falls, and the world famous Chobe National Park.

The unique chalets are constructed of teak and custom made canvas tenting and are raised well above ground level into the tree canopy with their balconies extending out over the river. Linked by a winding overhead walkway, all chalets are opulently finished and equipped with en-suite bathrooms with ball and claw baths and separate shower, mini bar, large mosquito nets, ceiling fan and private safe.

The principle guest amenities are located on the larger island whilst the guests’ chalets are situated on the smaller island overlooking the river towards the game reserve on the southern bank. A suspended footbridge links the two islands. The up-market dining room and lounge offer contemporary comfort in a truly African setting. The main lodge decking enjoys excellent views of the mighty Zambezi River drifting by and is an ideal place to relax. A swimming pool is shaded by a thick canopy of riverine forest.

The privately owned islands are located in a wilderness area, the emphasis is therefore on the scenic beauty of its riverside setting as a place to relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the African bush. While ideal as a relaxing post safari treat, a wide range of activities is also on offer from the Lodge. These include specialist birding and tree walks on the main island’s nature trail, guided fishing trips for the elusive Zambezi Tiger Fish, game drives to Livingstone’s Mosi-O-Tunya National Park, where a sighting of a rhino is almost guaranteed, or to Chobe National Park, which boasts perhaps the finest elephant sightings in Africa. Also available are sunset river cruises, dugout canoe trips around the islands and a guided trip to a truly genuine African village.

Transfers and tours are also available to Livingstone town, its museums and Victoria Falls, where all of the adrenaline pumping activities are on offer, including bunji jumping, abseiling, white water rafting and the gorge swing. Micro-light and helicopter flights over the Falls can also be arranged.
