Founders Camp is located in the Londolozi Game Reserve which covers 14,000 hectares of private wilderness in the heart of the famous Sabi Sand Game Reserve – a privately owned 65,000 hectare extension of the Kruger National Park. The Sabi Sand shares a 50km long unfenced border with the national park, ensuring that animals can roam freely between the two reserves.

Londolozi Game Reserve comprises five exclusive camps - Tree Camp, Pioneer Camp, Varty Camp, Founders Camp - and the new Private Granite Suites. Set in a prime location, hidden amongst towering trees on the banks of the Sand River, these intimate camps all offer the ultimate in luxurious safari accommodation with spacious suites, elegant décor and impeccable service.



Enchanting, intimate and child friendly, Founders Camp is ideally situated to provide an insider’s view of the secrets of river life. The camp comprises seven air-conditioned chalets, all with personal bar and private verandas affording magical views of the Sand River and lush riverine bush. En-suite bathrooms with glass walls offer tantalising views of the African wilderness.



This is an African safari in the classic style, replete with black and cream ticking fabric and original mahogany beds. Deep leather couches, military chests, compass safari lamps and a riverside lounge sala, create a mood of easy luxury and laid back welcome for discerning families and travellers.



The dining area at Founders Camp overlooks the Sand River, with a walkway leading to a thatched viewing deck where guests can relax while game and bird viewing. The boma (reed-enclosed open air dining area) is adjacent to the camp's swimming pool. There is a covered sitting area, with a well-stocked drinks cabinet. Guests from Founders Camp are welcome to visit the African craft shop and interpretive centre at the nearby Varty Camp.
