A classic Botswana combination. Enjoy gliding silently in a mokoro in the watery wilderness of the Jao concession, deep within the Okavango Delta. For a contrasting Delta experience you head to the remote Kwedi concession, famous for its lion and buffalo interaction. Complete your safari in the game-rich Linyanti Wildlife Reserve. All of the camps are in private concessions and far from the madding crowds.
Days 1-2: You will be met at Maun Airport for a light-aircraft transfer to Jacana Camp, situated just outside the Moremi Game Reserve within the private Jao Concession. Jacana is a traditional Delta water camp, built on a wooded palm island.

Your two nights here are in an en-suite tent built on a wooden deck. A private veranda has spectacular views over the floodplains. Activities include mokoro and walking safaris all year round. As the floodwaters recede between September and May, day and night game drives in open 4x4 vehicles are also available subject to water levels.
The game viewing depends on the time of year and the water levels in the Okavango. Red lechwe, hippos, reedbuck and crocodile are often seen on water based activities along with the elusive sitatunga. Elephants are common from late July onwards. Plains game is good on summer game drives and might include tsessebe, wildebeest and zebra. The plains game in turn attracts predators, including lion, cheetah and leopard. This is also an area of prime importance for a host of wetland bird species.
Days 3-4: A transfer by light aircraft to Duba Plains - possibly the Okavango Delta's most remote camp - located in a private 30,000 hectare concession, known locally as the Kwedi Reserve. The camp is situated on an island, surrounded by expansive seasonally flooded plains and shaded by tall ebony, fig and garcinia trees.

Two nights are spent at this intimate camp. Walk-in safari tents have en-suite facilities and a veranda overlooking the floodplain. Activities include game viewing in open 4x4 vehicles and on foot. Night drives and water activities are available on a seasonal basis, subject to water levels.
This is a fascinating region, famous for its lion and buffalo interaction. Although wild, the lions are habituated to hunting in the presence of vehicles and this is the best place for predator/prey interaction in the delta. Most of the Okavango Delta's birdlife is found in the area.
Days 5-7: Today you transfer by light-aircraft to Savuti Camp, situated in an isolated part of the Linyanti Concession along the Savute Channel.
In 2008, the Savute Channel started flowing again for the first time in over a quarter of a century and became a deep, clear waterway harbouring hippo and aquatic life with myriad varieties of waterbirds. Wildlife, from plains game to a plethora of predators, has had to adapt to a new source of water and all the opportunities and menaces it has brought with it.

Three nights are spent at this comfortable camp, with accommodation in large tented rooms with en-suite facilities.
Explore the Channel and its environs through day and night game drives, nature walks with a guide (on request), and several well-positioned hides for safe, up-close animal viewing.
Day 8: Enjoy a final morning activity at Savuti Camp before your departure by light aircraft to Maun Airport to connect with your onward flight.
