I was watching dogs chasing red lechwe onto a peninsula with some guests. When the hunt failed one dog took a liking to a landrover and attacked. From our position we could not tell what part of the vehicle he had gripped onto like a vice.
The guide in the victim car got warned about the attack, and it was only when he drove off that we noticed the hound was attached to the green cover bag of a safari jacket which was loosely hanging at the back of the vehicle. If you use your imagination, you wonder just how many times loose jackets and ponchos could be eye catching and trigger a frisky predator to attack.
